Chemical Peels

A Chemical Peel treatment is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers for optimal exfoliation. The purpose of this skin resurfacing treatment is to treat acne, signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, uneven texture, and scarring. Ideally, chemical peels are completed in a series of 3-6 treatments to safely prepare the skin for a gradual increase in the depth of the peel. During each service, the chemical peel chosen will be customized to target your specific skin concerns, skin type, and lifestyle.

How to prepare for a peel

  • Remember, your skin is an investment! It’s required to use professional grade skincare products in your at-home regimen prior to starting your peel series. This guarantees safety of your skin and aids in achieving and maintaining results from these advanced treatments! Therefore, chemical peels are NOT administered on new clients. You must have completed a consultation or be an established client prior to booking this service.
  • Once you’re approved and scheduled for your chemical peel, it’s important to stop using your active products (such as retinol, AHAs and BHAs) at least 3 days prior to your peel.

What to avoid post peel

  • After a chemical peel of any depth, the skin will be red, tight, and irritated for 24-72 hours. Flaking, shedding, and advanced peeling of the skin may occur, and usually will begin 2-3 days post peel and may last up to 7 days. It’s important to avoid direct sun exposure, excess heat, makeup application or excessive sweating for the first 24 hours post peel, and refrain from exfoliating the skin (which includes the use of actives such as retinol, AHAs and BHAs) for a full 7 days post peel.

Products to use post peel

  • It’s crucial to properly care for the skin during the healing process, therefore a post treatment skincare kit is included with this service which will include samples of professional grade products. Clients will utilize these products for the first 3-5 days post treatment to ensure the skin is receiving the proper nutrients as it heals.
